At Matador, we know a lot of ‘attractions’ that get the hype are too crowded because of it, have their features exaggerated, or were never that cool to begin with. That’s why some of our guides will let you know what NOT to do.

There’s no point in waiting hours to climb the Eiffel Tower and look down on Paris when the best views of the city are those with the tower in the skyline. Likewise, it’s more rewarding to explore Santorini on the back of a rented moped than with one of the island’s run-of-the-mill tours.
