How can you omit Germany and Hungary and include the USA and bath, these are cultures like that of Japan and Taiwan that, in some cases both socially and economically, were lived around a geothermal spring. Somebody needs to do a little more travelling by the looks of things.

Many years ago,I enjoyed a natural hot spring in Cuba. The resort,in those days, was called San Jose Del Lago and it was near the town of Mayajigua,in what was the Las Villas province. The resort was very beautiful, featuring lakes, hot spring, swimming pool, etc.I believe it's still there, under a new name,of course.

I think the top two pictures are mixed up. If I am not wrong, the top picture is taken in Iceland, probably in the Myvatn area.

Great article Turner.
I lived 13 years in Greenland, and there are thousands of hot springs all over the largest Island in the world.
On Qeqertarsuaq, or Disko Island if that is easier to pronounce, in the Disko Bay, on the west coast of Greenland, there are more than 2000 hot springs. Quite an amazing experience sitting in a hot spring watching huge icebergs floating by. Unfortunately it is very expensive traveling to and in Greenland so it is a once in a lifetime experience for most people. However should you ever go to Greenland, go there in June and experience the amazing midnight sun as well.
