What a useless list. The article starts talking about 'sizable Indian population', but does not figure an Indian city!! I would believe all 10 cities would be from India

Oh my god.....Sydney should never be on this list. Actually, I'll say it right here; No Australian city should ever legitimately be on someone's "Most Vegetarian Friendly Cities" list. Ever! I lived in Jacksonville Florida essentially my whole life and they have a FEW true vegetarian/vegan restaurants in their jurisdiction. (Oh, and I don't count a lot of ethnic food restaurants unless they explicitly state that they're completely vegetarian/vegan). When I came to Australia I immediately realized how much better Jacksonville was. No city in Australia will ever come close to San Fran, or LA, or many many other US cities.

Great list author, thank you! To all the people with the negative comments you should all chill out a bit. Clearly this isn't a top ten list its just a list of cities with great vegetarian food. India is a given for having great vegetarian food so why not showcase some other places....

Clarifications about the Mexico City entry:

"The Green Corner" in Mexico City is not entirely vegetarian as the listing above implies. They do offer an astounding number of vegetarian dishes, but one should be aware that dishes listing things like beef or chicken among the ingredients have real beef or chicken, not vegetarian analogs of those things.

Also, I believe that Vegi Market is merely a manufacturer of vegetarian products that you buy and prepare in your home. The three locations that they list as selling their products are not restaurants.

Those looking for a purely vegetarian restaurant in Mexico City should investigate Yug Vegetariano (Varsovia 3-b, Col. Juarez, near the Angel of Independence monument, 55 25 53 30 & 55 33 32 96). They also have a web site you can find with a search for "Yug Vegetariano" on your preferred search engine.

Its a total fake and biased view about vegeterian places!

India has more than worlds 50% vegeterians!!

some organizations are merely promoting western countries of vegeterian food:)

If anyone does a survey on vegeterian food 50% of dishes would be part of indian cuisines!!

china is home to mere 1% vegeterain people compared to 50+% strictly vegeterian in india and other 30% are partially vegeterians !!

Please stop showing fake rankings!!
