Because actually as a beer city, Detroit really does suck. The breweries are second rate, there are no beer stores and only a couple of places to have a really good beer. Now if you want to talk about the metro area and A2 thats a different story...

While I applaud your inclusion of Tampa Bay in your list, you missed some of the best spots! World of Beer? Four Green Fields? Please... Willard's Tap House, The Pour House, and the Ale and the Witch blow those places away for beer choices. Plus in addition to Dunedin Brewery you have Cigar City Brewing, the Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Saint Somewhere Brewing, and Peg's Cantina & Brewpub.

The Gateway City deserves some credit. We have several good microbrews here in St. Louis, not to mention being the home of the Great American Lager. Get yourself a seat at a Schafly's Tap Room downtown and tell me that St. Louis doesn't know it's beer.

Where would a Brit like drinking in the US? Note: the city should have a vomitorium if you want clean sidewalks.

Great list, but how is Detroit, MI not on the list? The motor city has everything from dive bars to sports bars to pubs, definitely one of the best beer cities in the world.

Agreed...Chico is one of the most underrated beer towns in the country! I was there about 10 years ago when Butte Creek Brewery had their annual party and as long as you were 21 it was all the free beer you could drink.

Great big cities in the west, but one small town worth noting is Chico, CA. Not only does it have a huge student population (it is essentially only a college town) it is home to Sierra Nevada Brewery. The downtown area has a bar on every corner and several other local microbrews. Head to The Graduate, where they have 30+ beers on tap. Great place and great beers!

This is such a BS list. They just listed the biggest cities. Absolutely no relevance to this list. I live in Denver for example. Denver has a few breweries, but certainly not as many as the mountain cities and towns, (Golden, Ft. Collins, etc.).
