I'm based in London but have moved around England for work. To me London is Melbourne on a much larger scale - lots of wet days, very cosmopolitan and there is always something happening!

Hi Rebecca,

Where in the UK are you? We have tentative plans to move there at some point. I like the sound of that moonlight cinema. That's the thing about Melbourne too, you can live here for years and still find out new things. Will check that out! Thanks.

Hi Carlo,
I left my Melbourne nearly 18 months ago to move to the UK and your 'to do list' made me feel really homesick.
What I love and miss about my city is that on any given day you can go exploring and find something fun to do. My summer suggestions include catching a movie at the moonlight cinema in the Royal Botanic Gardens, twilight evenings at the Queen Vic market & drinks on the yarra. Enjoy your summer in Melbourne!

Yes Carlo, it's within 5 mins walk.
Great local place.
Here's a link to a review from The Age.

Carlo, nice list.

Can't agree with you on Leroy beating Inkr7 on a coffee tho!
We might be biased, as we work next door at Liquid Snow Tours, but our day doesn't start until we've swung next door for a 4 pack of coffees.
Cowderoy milk bar on Cowderoy st is also a favourite of mine down Middle Park way.

Drop in next time and say hi next time you're frequenting Inkr7 for a latte mate

@Adam I agree, it's one of the quintessential things to do while visiting Melbourne. And I have seen a couple of footy matches at the G. However, I'm just not much of a fan of the sport and this was things that I like to do.

@James Thanks. Are you also a Leroy man?

Hi Carlo, great list. I always like seeing what other people's perspective is of my own city. I'll be back in Melbourne soon over so maybe I'll run into at Leroys.

How can you go to Melbourne and not enjoy a bit of sport - with the M.C.G. (Melbourne Cricket Ground) you have Cricket and Aussie Rules - and of course its the home of the best Rugby team in the N.R.L. (possibly the world) the Melbourne Storm.
Time your visit right and you can see an Aussie Rules match in the afternoon, sample some local food in the city centre and then down to see the Storm in the evening with a few beers and legendary Four'N Twenty Pie.
