I think I'd add Cascades D'Ouzoud to this list too -- it seems like only urban Moroccan tourists go here, but it's got some great camping and of course, waterfalls and swimming!

Thanks for the tips! Morocco is high on my priority list - as much of it as possible, in fact, but I keep being told that "everyone hates Casablanca" and "nobody goes to Rabat" - a good reminder to follow interests despite the pull of the crowd!

Just checked out your blog, Andrew, and it rules. You're right--this list is just a start. So hard to just pick 5! Luckily, your blog more than fills in the gaps.

Thanks for these additions, Andrew. Morocco seems to offer a lot for those willing to look--perhaps a sequel is in order...

I've lived in Morocco for about fifteen months now ( http://www.ibnibnbattuta.com/morocco/ ), and can't believe what a rut all the tourists are stuck in. Though I do have a lot of complaints about it, I'll admit that Morocco is a beautiful country to explore, yet people just go to Marrakech and Fes. What a disappointment! This list is great, but it's just a start. I would add Azrou (and surrounding hills), Asilah, Mehdiya (surfing!), Moulay Bousselham, and most importantly... Rabat! So few tourists ever visit the capital, but it's actually one of the nicest cities in Morocco if you're looking to relax.

This makes me want to go back to Morocco so bad. I only had an evening in Casablanca, where I didn't see much beyond the Hassan II mosque and the medina, but even that was good. But I've got to go to a hammam! And, you know... the rest of the country.
