If they can't sell it for the price you mention, they won't. I arrived in Shanghai in August and I realize that I paid some things I bought way too much. While Nanjing Road can get a little too touristy at times, I think it is one of the places you have to go to if you are visitng Shanghai for the first time. I would recommend going a few blocks away where you'll find some great clothing stores that are well priced. The Old Quarter is awesome. It's full of life and energy, I just love it! I live and write from Shanghai, I write for Nile Guide (similar to Matador in a lot of ways).
