Hi Tom,

Oxford's not quite in the Delta proper, but it is a seriously classic college town with a strong music scene, a great literary tradition (Faulkner and all that) and within easy reach of the airport in Memphis. So the area around there could be a good bet. Anywhere in the Clarksdale end of the Delta would also be in easy commuting distance of Memphis, while the Greenville-Greenwood end is in striking distance of the airport in Jackson.

Hope that helps! Good luck.

And along the way, be sure to check out BBQ, shrimp n' grits, andouille sausage, po'boys, and gumbo (wait! Maybe I should write the culinary companion guide to this blues road trip plan!) :) Great work, Eva!
