I should have ate breakfast this morning before reading this article. Got my stomach grooowwwling.

One of my biggest regrets is that I’ve created a lifestyle for myself that doesn’t allow me enough time to dive into the local food/farm action in the Bay Area, which I know is tremendously rich and cook more.

This article reminded just what I’m missing and obviously Montanans have their priorities straight and the natural produce to deliver.

I’m thinking about a trip for summer and Montana is sneaking up the list after this article.

Forget the hiking and the beautiful landscape, I’m going to Montana to eat! I’ve definitely heard about the Huckleberry sauce…would love to get down some. Great post.

This is almost a little too much to handle before lunch…huckleberries, morels, fresh trout and bison steaks? Forget about it. My salami, crackers and canned pineapple I have packed for my little backpacking expedition this weekend all of the sudden sound depressingly meager. I’m gonna fire up half these places when I finally touch down in Montana (hopefully this Summer??)…

Can’t get a better steak than at Casagranda’s steakhouse in uptown Butte! I miss a quality cut of meat… Korean bbq just doesn’t cut it. I’m lickin my chops until I get home!

Wow. I honestly think this is the most underrated food in the U.S – the wild edibles, the trout and bison, the fresh cherries and berries, morels….The foodie scene in San Fran and New York gets a lot of play, but my god, this food is amazing. And I honestly think the foodie scene is a lot more interesting in places like Montana, where the ingredients are so seasonal and local and really tied to place.
