Mmmm, totally craving tea now. The English have totally rubbed off on us Newfoundlanders, except our tea of choice is Orange Pekoe (their "regular", I think). My mother drinks 13 cups a day, seriously.

I miss the coca tea of Cusco. Also not as well known is the munya, minta, or mint tea. They put freshly picked mint into the tea. Amazing. Cures a stuffed nose and tastes great. I had about 12 different types of tea in Peru and I loved them and this is from a previously non-tea drinker.

I remember the first time I had butter tea. All I could think was "this tastes suspiciously like soup".

If you're ever in South Carolina, be sure to sample the sweet tea at The Beacon restaurant in Spartanburg, my hometown. People stand in line for this tea.

Cool post!

I've gotta throw out some love for chai, though. A hot, 4-rupee cup in an Indian train station at dawn -- nothing like it.
