Hey, going to San Juan in a month. I'm hoping to do one of these hikes. Do you have any more suggestions for some things that wouldn't be so touristy? I'm staying at a resort but not into sticking around the hotel for entertainment. In exchange I can tell you a lot of awesome things to do in NYC that wouldn't be in a guide book (I've lived here all my life) Please shoot me an email! Thanks

Hey, if you know great paths and want to share your knowledge, it would be great if you could publish them on www.cariboutdoor.com. It would help other people to have some fun in Puerto Rico.

Yes- the tourism board doesn't do a great job at promoting PR's geographical diversity, which is a shame. That's why your article is great.

Thanks for the kind words, Julie! They mean a lot coming from you. Puerto Rico really surprised me. I went in with no conception whatsoever of the island's mountainous interior and diverse ecosystems. I hope to return soon.

Hal- Excellent article! As someone who lived in PR for 2.5 years, I can confirm that everything you've written here is accurate... and it would help even Puerto Ricans get off the beaten paths of the island!
