Only people who have travelled this highway will know how desperate the situation is. In the meanwhile the spring melt is filling the lake and it is getting deeper. The race is on to provide a spillway by late May when the lake will burst its banks. There is huge pressure building up, We hope that the wonderful people of the Upper Hunza will get the support of their government and the international community.
