OVER HALF A century ago, the Calgary Stampede purchased twenty two thousand acres of pristine ranch land specifically to breed and care for the best rodeo stock in North America. The goal was to set and maintain the highest possible standard of animal care, breeding animals that have gone on to become champions in their respective disciplines.

Calgary Stampede Ranch, Hana, Alberta

The Stampede Ranch provides stock for select rodeos in the US and Canada, pairing the best animals with the best athletes for its premiere event, the annual Calgary Stampede.

The ranch currently has over 500 horses, and around 60 bulls. It’s the closest thing you’ll find to wild horses roaming the plains, as the horses live outdoors, grazing in the fields. These animals are born and bred to buck, conditioned to become champions.
