Editor’s note: For those of us who haven’t yet made the trip, Matador Ambassador Scott Sporleder brings us along as he explores just a small part of the world’s largest reef system: Queensland, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. The GBR comprises over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands, stretching for over 2,600km off the coast of Queensland. It is home to over 1,500 species of fish, not to mention sea snakes, turtles, and a vast variety of other creatures — many of whom make an appearance in this up-close-and-personal portrait of a truly unique ecosystem.
