WHAT/WHERE
Majka Burhardt and a small team of climbers set their sights on some unclimbed granite in northern Namibia, getting to know nearby Himba villagers during their expedition.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Majka and her team use rock climbing as an excuse to head into Namibia. Climbing, they figured, is a great way to meet people and explore a world that is more remote than any they had previously experienced. Adventure sports have a long history of connecting people across cultural barriers.
