WHAT/WHERE
The World Air Games “Parachuting Canopy Piloting” event, held in 2009 in Turin Italy, is not an event for the faint of heart or those prone to airsickness. Video may induce vertigo and euphoria from the safety of your computer chair.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Held every two years, the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale) World Air Games brings together over 300 athletes from a diverse array of aviation disciplines. While it takes a real adrenaline junkie to enter the “Parachuting Canopy Piloting” event, most travelers are driven by some form of thrill-seeking. Whether it’s the elation of hearing an ESL student string their first sentence together or the exhilaration of seeing the world from a yet-to-be-named mountaintop, the rush of travel is hard to satiate any other way.
