WHAT/WHERE
Cape Town shows its excitement for Africa’s first FIFA tournament.

NETWORK CONNECTION

Watching the World Cup games on TV fills us in on the action but doesn’t really show us how enthusiastic the country is for the tournament. Soccer is a unifying, accessible sport the entire world can play and appreciate, and South Africa is pumped to be the platform and focus of this year’s most watched sporting event. It’s a pride that can be seen in their faces, whether painted or plain, and this cinematography is just plain compelling.

I’m glad that the US is out of the World Cup. Soccer is sooooo booring IMHO. Of course, I’m not a big sports fan to begin with so who am I to judge? I do think however, that soccer will someday be as big here in the US as pro football!
