I’m not much of a long-term planner.

This isn’t to say that I don’t have goals (I do) or that I’ve perfected living in the moment (I definitely haven’t). It’s just that I realize how quickly new opportunities can arise, and how an idea that seemed viable today may have fizzled out by next week.

So the premise of this video, put together by the organization Four Years. Go., is slightly overwhelming to me. What can I commit to today and work on steadily for the next four years to help prevent continued environmental degradation and to make the world more livable for everyone?

On the other hand, thinking about the urgency of doing something meaningful for the environment within four years as opposed to 40 or 50 years feels more doable and just makes sense.

Check out the video and Four Years. Go.’s mission. Is this a project you’d want to be involved in, and if so, what do you pledge to do?
