Sacramento doesn’t exactly have a reputation as being the cultural or artistic nexus of Northern California. It’s most often touted for its proximity to other places – 2 hours to Lake Tahoe, 3 to Yosemite, an hour and a half to the City. With a few notable exceptions like the Deftones, Tesla and Cake, Sac-town is more cow-town than the capitol of Texas. Add republican ‘gobernator’ Arnold Schwartzenger and it’s no wonder no one is comparing modern day Sac with Paris of the 1920’s.
On the second Saturday of each month however, hella artists and musicians crawl out of the cornfields to manifest a Central Valley maxim that if necessity is the mother of invention, then boredom is the father of all creation.
