At the foot of the Andes in the northwest of Argentina, Mendoza is probably most famous for wine and vineyards. Most people who've traveled there will tell you it's got a chill vibe. It's a great place to go for Carnaval and a nice place to bike.

With about 885,000 residents, Mendoza's big enough to get lost in (not too lost if you look out for the mountains), but a world apart from Buenos Aires.
