This water-powered jet pack propels the wearer over thirty feet above the water.

THE FLYBOARD, created by French jet ski champion Franky Zapata, has a 100-horsepower engine, a hose that sucks in water for power, and jets that attach to your feet, effectively allowing you to swim and dive much like a dolphin. Which, I’m assuming, would take quite a bit of practice.

Zapata puts on a pretty incredible exhibition in this vid, even doing backward flips and “standing” on a stream of water several feet over the ocean.

The Flyboard is similar to the Jetlev pack released earlier this year, but this one is more…dolphin-like. It’s just a little bit cheaper, too – the Jetlev runs around $91,000, while a basic Flyboard is less than $6,500.
