Where there used to be lions, elephants, rhinos and chimpanzees sit piles of trash. This is the reality of Africa’s rapid urban sprawl: it destroys the habitats of the continent’s most iconic wildlife. Photographer Nick Brandt created a series of grim images to illustrate this incredibly sad and dangerous phenomenon.
