SIMONE, a 71-year-old living in a tiny French village, plays hosts to refugees every weekend. Together, they re-create a sense of family that both Simone and the refugees living in nearby towns crave. There is no fear and no judgement in the way they interact with each other, instead there is a whole lot of respect, generosity, and love.

“I have two mothers”, says Abbas, an Iraqi refugee who spends his weekends with Simone, “one in Iraq and one in France”.
