Calling Robbie Maddison a “daredevil” barely does justice to the man who seems to be afraid of nothing.

The surfer/stunt rider from Australia has proven he can do just about anything on a motorcycle (he jumped onto a replica of the Arc de Triomphe, he backflipped over the opened Tower Bridge in London, etc.), but this time he topped it all by combining both his passions to surf some of the World’s most powerful waves in Tahiti… on his modified dirt bike.

The video resulting of this incredible feat is awesome and thrilling, but Maddison explained Surfer Magazine that it was not as easy as it looks: “[…] when the wave broke right behind me, I honestly thought that might be the end of my life. I’ve never felt like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time more than I did right there. It was a near-death experience. At the end of the day, the images and footage say something pretty awesome, but the ferocity and how gnarly that thing was can’t really be put into words.”
