In this video posted by mitú, Dolores Morado tells her story of raising children in the United States born of black and Mexican ancestry. Morado admits that by raising biracial kids,”we went through a lot with my family.” As the “Latinx” identity is growing in the United States, some surveys suggest that people from that demographic are less likely to also identify as black. Morado’s grandson explains in the video “Coming up Black and Mexican, most times people want to tell you, you know, cause they look at you one way, they want you to be easily identified.”
