We’re looking for new blood for 2011. And to that end, we wouldn’t mind hearing some proposals for pieces from you. But we’ve got some ideas for series and here’s where your expertise comes in.

The story’s the thing, and this could have even happened online or been a fake out. What we want to read are interesting interactions or experiences. And the only thing that gushes around here are head wounds. No worshipful drivel, please.
The Top Dive Bars in Las Vegas is just about as good as it gets, and we want more. Tell us about the regulars, the ambiance, the smelly carpet, and the owner’s hygiene. Nothing’s off limits here except common human decency.
We’ve done a lot of music festival pieces here, but now we want to get specific. If you’re a fan an out of the ordinary sort of music and want to do a run down of your fantasy destinations for music festivals, let us know and we’ll see what we can work out.
If you don’t take yourself too seriously, you’re just the kind of person we’re looking for. Matador Nights is looking for tongue in cheek guides to tasting and discussing wine, cheese, beer and just about anything connoisseurs appreciate. We want guides to help the average joe come off like a champ around people who know their stuff.
The BDSM scene has only gotten bigger and more visible over the last several years. If you have tips about clubs, the scene, and which munches to check out in your town or anywhere you’ve visited extensively, it’s time for show and tell.
Our call for a marijuana ambassador was met with many inquiries but (surprise, surprise) not one single submission. So far, we have a piece on marijuana laws in Southeast Asia, but we are looking for more. Do you have your card in California? Any practical know-how is a bonus for anyone who wants to do the research for our marijuana laws series. Or just throw a pitch our way for your pot related idea.
We’re also looking for on the ground coverage of:
– Tattoo conventions
– Street art photo essays (And we really do appreciate it if you can identify the artists.)
– Festivals specific to your town or region
– Great places to eat in cities/destinations worldwide (at least 5 per city)
