It’s been disaster after disaster lately, it seems. The BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico seems like ages ago. Have you forgotten about it?
This mom hasn’t. Louisiana resident, Cherri Foytlin — mother of 6 and wife of a displaced deepwater oil rig worker — is leading a team of fellow residents to Washington, DC by foot. They will arrive at the White House on April 14, 2011 to personally ask President Obama for aid.
8:00 am: Gather at Arlington Cemetery to walk across Arlington Bridge
9:00 am: Walk by WWII Memorial, where other supporters will join the march
10:00 am: Lafayette Park – Cherri Foytlin will speak to the crowd, photo opportunity
Lafayette Park is located directly across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House at Pennsylvania Ave and Jackson Pl, NW
