IT MAY BE THE DEAD OF WINTER, but it’s not too early to start freaking out about this year’s festival circuit. And it’s shaping up to be an amazing year to freak out about, because Coachella this year (April 15-24) will be featuring two major reunited acts: the first, announced last week, is that Axl Rose and Slash are finally reuniting for a Guns ‘n’ Roses concert (Rose has been active in the band for a few years now, but Slash hasn’t been in the band since the mid-90’s).
The second, just announced yesterday by the New York Times, is LCD Soundsystem. The band, fronted by James Murphy (pictured above), broke up in 2011 after releasing three awesome albums, and still hasn’t formally announced their return, though they did release a new Christmas song on Christmas eve.
Happy New Year, music lovers. It’s going to be a good year for us.
