Rebecca Rusch’s father, a U.S. Air Force pilot, died when his plane was shot down in Laos during the Vietnam War. Now, more than 40 years later, she has a goal: to bike the Ho Chi Minh Trail and reach the site of the crash. She’s accompanied by Huyen Nguyen, a Vietnamese athlete whose father and uncle also fought the American Resistance War, but from the other side, with America as the enemy.

Their journey, following the 1,200-mile infamous trail also known as the Blood Road, will be a physical and spiritual challenge, in which they will learn more about the history of the place and discover how the Vietnam War shaped their lives in different ways. Directed by Nicholas Schrunk, ‘Blood Road‘ is the resulting film of their odyssey.
