Just a few years ago, stand-up paddleboarders (SUP) were a rare sight on the river — their flat-water boards were a little awkward in the current and downright dangerous in the whitewater. Nowadays, as technique and gear has progressed, you’ll be hard-pressed to float one of Colorado’s great whitewater rivers — the Colorado, Poudre, Gore, Arkansas, etc. — without seeing at least one group of SUPers navigating tricky rapids or surfing endless waves.

Can I Surf That captures two years of river-running antics by a kick-ass group of ladies who are leading the whitewater-SUP charge as they search the US for the ever-elusive “perfect wave.” Spoiler alert: The answer to the film’s title is an unequivocal YES.

Did this teaser get you stoked to see the full-length film? Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until 2015 Paddlefest in Buena Vista, Colorado. Until then, you can daydream and watch this trailer on repeat.
