These three unicyclists are apparently undaunted by narrow paths dangerously close to the edge of cliffs plunging straight into the Atlantic.
THE SIGNAL HILL trail is the most popular hiking trail in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. (I hiked it just last night, in fact.) It winds up around cliffs, past a deep cave and along the Atlantic Ocean until you reach Cabot Tower at the top. If it’s the right time of year, you can even spot humpback whales, killer whales, and icebergs. There are thousands of steps to climb, and also sections of the path so narrow that chains are embedded in the cliff’s face to keep hikers from falling.
In other words, it’s not an easy hiking route…never mind unicycling.
This video gives me the heebie-geebies, but hats off to these unicyclists who pull it off without injury! None that we know of, at least. The music in the background is also pretty fabulous.
