The modern-day Tower of Babel known as the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, at 2,722 feet. It’s been finished for nearly five years, and others have jumped from near the top before. But in late April, BASE jumpers Vince Reffet and Fred Fugen had a special platform built that allowed them to get all the way up to, and leap from, the very top of the building.

In so doing, they broke the world record for highest BASE jump. Their jump, which circled the building, looks absolutely incredible, and is probably the only thing other than clinical depression that could possibly make you want to jump off a building. Fugen’s explanation of why he BASE jumps is fantastic as well: “We like to fly.”
