Haiti’s first film school is taking off in the country’s artistic capital.

After three years of the successful ‘Festival Film Jakmèl’, this Haitian coastal city became the fortunate host to the country’s first film institute. The Ciné Institute provides training in production and storytelling for local citizens. By supporting this powerful venue of communication, students have become further enabled to tell Haiti’s story from the Haitian point of view – a rare perspective in today’s media.
