WHAT/WHERE
David embarks on a trek into the Pakistan Himalayas searching for Shangri-La, the mythical utopian valley where life is so perfect that people can live to be over 200 years old.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Shangri-La is the valley in James Hilton’s novel “Lost Horizons.” Though David understands that his quest into Northern Pakistan is to find a fictional place, the lore surrounding a valley in the Himalayas where life is perfect and people live forever has been attracting people to the region as far back as Alexander the Great. The quest for health has led to adventures as big as conquering whole regions for the Fountain of Youth to the more sedate, modern equivalents of tripping to hot springs and health mines.
