IN THIS VIDEO, Mexican activists describe their fight to get the rights and culture of Afro-Mexicans recognized by the country’s government. As of now, there is still no official recognition of Afro-Mexican populations in the Mexican constitution. Without being counted, activists believe that it’s impossible for Afro-Mexicans to gain the political representation and cultural rights they deserve. Watch the video above to hear their arguments.
