IN THE FIRST THREE MONTHS of 2016, over 400 children were murdered in El Salvador. The country has the 8th highest rate of homicide in the world. And yet when these families and children flee to the United States seeking asylum, the results are dismal. 70% of these families escaping violence never receive legal counsel. 98% are deported back home. Currently, there are around 70,000 families in the United States in line for deportation. Watch this touching video by The Guardian to hear their stories.
