Cyclist Paul Bolla is competing in the highest, most intense mountain biking race in the world.

THERE ARE MOUNTAIN BIKE RACES…and then there is the Yak Attack: 11 Stages covering some 400km with over 12km of ascent. It’s probably not for you.

I had the privilege of covering the race, following the epic journey of competitor Paul Bolla, a big hearted Australian, whose mission was to fundraise for his young Nepalese friends at the Social Development Centre and Mitrata Foundation for children.

In episode #1, it’s a full day’s travel to Kathmandu, and by the time I reach my bed the Yak Attack starting gun is only 19 hours away.

Stay tuned for the following episodes of Yak Attack here at Matador.
