Vienna is my favorite personal example of why we shouldn’t always trust our first impressions. The first time I was there, I hated it. It was February, freezing cold, raining (not even snowing!), and I dragged myself from avenue to avenue, thinking the city was too impressive, too imperial, too impersonal. The second time I got there by mistake (long story), so I hated it even more. A few years later, because fate has a weird sense of humor, I moved there. Now it’s my favorite place in the world, even in winter.
This video offers a glimpse into the city — its architecture, vibrant life, the Danube, the people. Produced by FilmSpektakel, it took them “one week of planning every single frame, one year of production (next to paid film jobs and university) and 2 TB hard drive space.” Enjoy.
