@heatherhutch Hey Heather. Great new photo — like a model, you fashionista! Still working on plans here for Ecuador, but my buddy is pushing it back to March or April. How is Quito and and the country around that time of year? Best to you, Nelson

I'm a recent graduate from Georgetown University, a Culture and Politics major in the School of Foreign Service. I also completed a Certificate in International Development and a Certificate in Latin American Studies. That said, I still don't have much of an idea what career I'd like to pursue. As a result, I'm living in Quito, Ecuador and trying on a few jobs to see what suits me best...

My interests range from sociology to environmentalism to human rights to indigenous politics to anthropology to eco-tourism to anything in between. I'm currently teaching English (to pay the bills) and, on the side, volunteering with a Quito-based NGO that organize volunteer placements in local and sustainable projects throughout Ecuador. The latter work gives me the chance to work a bit in tourism as I often organize trips and volunteer programs and, at times, serve as a guide/translator for groups. It also gives me the chance to support local initiatives and encourage sustainable projects and responsible tourism.

I'm particularly excited to share Ecuador with other visitors and am always eager to give suggestions on specific activities, the best side trips, and general travel information!
