Fun fact: By law, payments in Zambia can only be made with Zambian money: Zambia kwacha. If you are visiting Zambia, be alert when changing money to Zambian currency.
In January 2013 the Zambian kwacha was rebased by dividing by 1000; in June 2013 the old Zambian monetary unit stopped being legal tender. This change has gone over well in the capital city, Lusaka. However, at the time of writing (two months after the cut-off date), people in the countryside still accept the old kwacha and Google still applies the old Zambia kwacha exchange rate.
