Finland, the Nordic country sandwiched between Sweden, Norway, and Russia, is the most sparsely populated country in Europe. Finland’s geography is unique, as it houses 188,000 lakes and 179,000 islands. With a population of only 5.5 million people, there is one lake or island for every 15 Finnish citizens. There are plenty of locations in Finland to explore, and this is a collection of 12 of our favorite images from this northern European country.
