I LIVE IN ASBURY PARK, WHERE THE water is a chilly 63 degrees Fahrenheit. Whenever I see surfers out in the early morning I always shiver to myself and think, “Yeah, I’m gonna wait another month or two.” As it turns out, I am a huge wuss. Because there’s an entire community of surfers living in the North of England who regularly surf on the rough, wild, frigid North Sea.

“Through Clouds and Water” is a short film set in the bleak, post-industrial grimness that is coastal North England. The surfers there may have rough lives, but their therapy is surfing in the North Sea. Give it a watch.
