Born and raised in Northern Michigan, Rachel grew up on sweet cherries and the crystal clear waters of the Great Lakes. A chai tea addict and avid reader, she most recently spent two years teaching English in the Alaskan bush. She is particularly fond of off-the-beaten path accounts and travel memoirs. Newlywed to a coffee guru and currently based in London, she works as a primary supply teacher while dabbling in freelance writing and dreaming of snow. A 2014 winner of the World Nomads Travel Writing Scholarship, she and her husband recently started a travel and life blog, Life Around the Map.
