Every hip city dweller wants to believe that they reside in the coolest neighborhood in the country. But how would they know? Sure, some neighborhoods like Venice Beach and the Lower East Side have reached such high levels of hipness that it would be hard to deny their street cred, but it takes more than being featured in a few movies and Beatnik novels to be the absolute coolest.
Fortunately, the folks behind Hotspot Rentals put together a study to find the hottest neighborhoods in the US. The creators used 18 different factors, “from transit times, to the number of festivals to local taxes to polls about pet friendliness,” to measure the “walkability, transit, budget, entertainment, lifestyle and weather” of the hottest neighborhoods in the country. (You can find out more about their methodology here). This is what they came up with.
