The Complete Guide to Toronto's 14 Michelin-Starred Restaurants

Toronto News Food + Drink
by Suzie Dundas Nov 26, 2025

If you love fine dining — and pay attention to restaurant awards — you probably already know that you can find Michelin-star restaurants around the world, from small towns in Virginia and Italy to big cities like San Diego and Los Angeles.

In Canada, cities like Vancouver may be known for their international flavors, but you’d be foolish if you thought that was the only award-winning foodie town in the country. In 2022, Toronto received its first Michelin guide and became the first city in Canada to have one. Now, there are 12 cities in North America with Michelin guides, but Toronto’s total number of restaurants continues to climb, with 93 restaurants in the guide that span multiple types of cuisine, including Japanese, Mexican, French, and modern American.

Sushi Masaki Saito received two Michelin stars in 2022, awarded for its traditional Japanese cooking that focuses on seasonal ingredients. Now, it has only one star, though chef Masaki Saito is still recognized as a two-time two-star Michelin chef. Thirteen other restaurants have one Michelin star, with 23 restaurants snagging a Bib Gourmand designation.

These are the 13 Michelin-starred restaurants to enjoy while you’re making plans to visit Toronto. Reservations are essential for almost all of them, so try to plan out your dining strategy as far in advance as possible, especially if you’re visiting during busy events like the 2026 World Cup.
