OUT OF OPEN OCEAN is a short film that showcases surfer Jeremy Rasmussen and his experience surfing one of the most dangerous waves in the world. Based out of the Pacific Northwest, Jeremy has been surfing this particular slab off the coast of Oregon for years. The wave comes out of the deep ocean and breaks heavily on the reef. It requires precise calculated takeoffs to stay out of harms way. Some of the best surfers in the world have tried surfing the wave and threw in the towel after one attempt because of the inherent danger. Filmmaker Phil Schlieder captures Jeremy in action and reveals his thoughts about surfing one of the most dangerous waves in the world.
