Located immediately southeast of Florida’s biggest theme parks, Kissimmee is a historic yet rapidly growing town. It's also home to the headwaters of the Everglades, where you'll find both beautiful wetlands and pine flatwoods—along with some of the most exceptional wildlife in the US.
This is a great launching point for a variety of outdoor adventure and eco-travel options. Airboating is probably the most famous way to get into the wetlands, but there are miles of quiet waterways to explore on stand-up paddleboard or kayak as well. It’s definitely worth checking out!
