Cristina Hartmann

I am a writer of stories, real and imagined. I wrote a YA novel, my articles have appeared in Time, Newsweek, Slate, and Vox. I am a five-time Quora Top Writer. Growing up in a quiet visual world, I first encountered sound at six. Then in my 20s, a fog rolled in and took me somewhere else. I write to explore our complicated relationship with our senses, to help others understand and appreciate literature, and to tell stories of my own. I love books, letters, and questions about the obscure. Currently, I'm obsessed with learning about plane crashes and cooking with pressure.
