Tom is a British photographer who loves getting lost. He most enjoys remote and/or lesser known locations to visit, often finding as much merit in the journey as in the destination itself. In recent years he has developed a strong fascination with abandoned locations, and the connections to different cultures, ideologies and belief systems that linger there. The natural world has always been a passion of his, and he relishes the opportunity to disappear into the wilderness for days at a time, especially if there is the promise of encountering some interesting wildlife. Over the years his camera has become of ever increasing importance, and now dictates destinations and itineraries. Old enough to have once owned a film camera, and not in a ’retro ironic’ way, Tom has fully embraced the digital age despite his initial conviction that it would ’never catch on’.
