University College London
London, United Kingdom
Hidden away near Euston station is UCL. Pretty beautiful. Some of Inception/Gladiator was filmed here. Christopher Nolan was a student.
13. Pretend you understand the art at Tate Modern
Tate Modern
London, United Kingdom
What makes good art? I don’t have a clue but some of it here is adequate, I guess! only modern art, so traditionalists go elsewhere. Hit the free exhibitions if you are trying to do London cheaply (that’s impossible btw). Pro tip: walk across from st pauls (on the bouncy millenium bridge). #gallery
14. Take in the sun at Granary Square
Granary Square
London, United Kingdom
Sit in the sunshine by the canal
15. Stroll the Southbank
Southbank
London, United Kingdom
A weekend stroll along the River Thames provides a perfect opportunity for people watching, eating, and impromptu street music.
16. Have a garden party at the Royal Botanic Gardens
Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
Richmond, United Kingdom
Hefty entrance fee but once you are in it’s gorgeous (try and find a friend whose a member) and vast. It’s a great place to go with kids. No dogs allowed :(
17. Blow your budget at the London Eye
London Eye
London, United Kingdom
#expensive
18. …or get a free, even better view at Primrose Hill
Primrose Hill
London, United Kingdom
Totally worth the walk to the top for that view #walk #view #viewpoint #skyline #photography
19. Have a fancy tea time at the Savoy
The Savoy
London, United Kingdom
Afternoon tea at the Savoy. This is my host sister, “baby Katherine,” who always makes this grumpy face on every single travel photo. (I find it hilarious) She did enjoy tea though. The hotel is extremely posh, and tea is a very elegant affair. Worth to try it once. #fine-dinning
20. Forget you’re in a city in Hyde Park
Hyde Park
London, United Kingdom
The best thing about parks in London is that you forget you are in the middle of a big city.
